Small, realistic habits that help you feel steadier, even when life is busy.
Looking after your mental health doesn't have to mean big changes. Often it's the small, consistent things that make the biggest difference.
1. Protect your sleep
Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, and put your phone away half an hour before sleep.
2. Move your body
A short walk outside can lift your mood and clear your head. It doesn't need to be a workout.
3. Talk to someone you trust
Sharing what's on your mind with a friend, family member or therapist lightens the load.
4. Notice your thoughts
When you catch yourself being harsh with yourself, pause and ask: would I say this to a friend?
5. Ask for help early
Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.
If you've been struggling for a few weeks, speaking to a professional can help you understand what's going on and what will help.
